Versions below are historical examples, not current supported-version recommendations. Use the project lockfiles, runtime constraints and official support matrix before installing; do not assume a newer major is compatible. Dependency installs may execute lifecycle scripts. Protect and gitignore secret environment files. Docker group membership grants root-equivalent host control; use rootless Docker where appropriate. The Compose stack is local development only: use unique credentials, bind published ports to loopback and add readiness checks rather than assuming depends_on means the database is ready.
