Reddit Research Agent
A read-only MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that wraps Reddit's API for monitoring resume/career subreddits. Used for product research — understanding what pain points job seekers face when building resumes.
Purpose
This tool helps monitor career and resume-related subreddits to understand user needs:
- Discover trending topics, common questions, and pain points job seekers face
- Monitor relevant discussions across resume/career subreddits
- Analyze recurring themes to inform product development
This is a read-only research tool. It does not post, comment, or interact with Reddit content in any way.
How It Works
Claude Code (orchestrator)
→ Reddit MCP Server (this repo — read-only Reddit API wrapper)
→ Supabase (stores research findings for analysis)

Setup

Reddit API Compliance
- Read-only access: No posting, commenting, or voting — only search and browse
- Rate limits: Respects Reddit's 100 requests/minute OAuth limit with built-in throttling
- User-Agent: Follows Reddit API guidelines (
platform:app_id:version (by /u/username)) - Official API only: No scraping, no workarounds
- Low volume: Estimated ~50-100 requests/day for periodic research scans
- No data redistribution: Research findings stored privately, not shared or sold
