🚀 Quick Start
Prerequisites
- Claude Code or Codex CLI installed and configured
Installation
Claude Code
Register the marketplace, then install a plugin from it. Where the two commands write depends on the scope: choose one.
For yourself, across all projects (user scope, the default):
claude plugin marketplace add notorious-ai/claude-plugins
claude plugin install github-author@notorious-ai
For everyone working in a repository (project scope, written to .claude/settings.json and committed):
claude plugin marketplace add notorious-ai/claude-plugins --scope project
claude plugin install github-author@notorious-ai --scope project
Once a collaborator trusts the repository, Claude Code registers the marketplace and prompts them to install the plugins listed there. The generated settings look like this:
{
"extraKnownMarketplaces": {
"notorious-ai": {
"source": {
"source": "github",
"repo": "notorious-ai/claude-plugins"
}
}
},
"enabledPlugins": {
"github-author@notorious-ai": true
}
}
For yourself, in one repository only (local scope, written to .claude/settings.local.json, not shared):
claude plugin marketplace add notorious-ai/claude-plugins --scope local
claude plugin install github-author@notorious-ai --scope local
Or browse and install interactively with claude plugin.
For more details, see the plugin configuration documentation.
Codex CLI
Register the marketplace, then install the plugins you want:
codex plugin marketplace add notorious-ai/claude-plugins
codex plugin add github-author@notorious-ai
codex plugin add golang-dev@notorious-ai
Start a new Codex session after installation.
📖 Understanding This Repository
Design Philosophy
This repository follows the Unix philosophy:
- Do One Thing Well: Each plugin has a single, focused purpose
- Composability: Plugins work together through clean interfaces
- User Control: Install only the plugins you need, not the entire collection
- Simplicity: Clear documentation and transparent implementations
User Control and Selective Installation
While this repository provides a marketplace for convenient discovery, you maintain complete control over which plugins you install:
- Individual selection: Install only the plugins you need from our marketplace
- Team configuration: Use settings to pre-select plugin subsets for your team
- Maximum flexibility: Mix and match plugins across multiple marketplaces
- Single responsibility: Each plugin maintains clear boundaries and can be used independently
The marketplace enables easy discovery while preserving your freedom to choose exactly what you need.
