clawdigest-mcp
Authenticated stdio MCP sidecar for the ClawDigest account API.
Requires Node.js 20 or newer.
Setup
- Sign in at clawdigest.live/account.
- Create a named API key and copy it when shown.
- Configure the sidecar. The package is not on the npm registry yet; npx installs and builds it straight from this repository:
claude mcp add clawdigest \
-e CLAWDIGEST_API_KEY=cd_live_... \
-- npx -y github:alexfrmn/clawdigest-mcp
JSON:
{
"mcpServers": {
"clawdigest": {

"args": ["-y", "github:alexfrmn/clawdigest-mcp"],
"env": {

}
}
}
}
For a local/self-hosted API, set CLAWDIGEST_API_BASE_URL. Non-HTTPS base
URLs are accepted only for localhost. The key is sent only in the
X-API-Key header.

Version 2 removes the unauthenticated hosted HTTP mode and arbitrary article URL fetcher. This closes the previous open-proxy/SSRF surface and makes REST and MCP share one account entitlement and quota.
MCP protocol compatibility
The sidecar uses the split MCP TypeScript SDK v2 and supports both protocol eras on the same stdio command:
- MCP
2026-07-28stateless negotiation for current SDK v2 clients. - Legacy initialization for Claude Code and other clients that have not yet enabled the new protocol.
No client flag is required. New clients probe and select the stateless protocol; existing configurations continue to work unchanged.
Development and release checks
npm ci
npm test
npm run build
npm audit --omit=dev --audit-level=high
npm pack --dry-run
The package is stdio-only. Its release archive intentionally contains only the README, compiled client/server files, and package metadata.
